What to do in Salou
Hiking lovers will find in Salou a part of the mythical Camí de Ronda in Costa Dorada, which starts from the same Paseo Marítimo in the direction of Salou Lighthouse. These hiking trails take you along the entire Mediterranean coastline -on Costa Brava you will also find them- showing you the coast from another perspective and giving you spectacular images of the coastline. In summer, it is best to start very early, so as not to be walking in the full hours of sun, and finish in some of the wonderful small and quiet coves that you will find along the way. There are also hotels in Salou all along the way, somewhat away from the city, although we recommend staying in Salou for greater comfort.
If you travel with children to Salou, something highly recommended, there is no better option than to spend one of the days in Port Aventura and Ferrari Land, the latter with attractions dedicated to Formula 1 and speed lovers. It is the most famous theme park on the Mediterranean coast, hosting some of the largest roller coasters in Europe, shows for the whole family and even a water park. You can also spend the day with your family without leaving the city in the Karting Salou or the Aventura Salou forest, a vertical forest where the little ones -and also adults- will live an adventure with zip lines, climbing walls and paintball. Finally, every monday the Salou market is held, an essential visit where you can buy local products in more than 100 places.
Whether you book any of the hotels in Salou to marvel at its natural landscape, bathe in the beaches of crystal clear waters, or ride some of the largest roller coasters in Europe, you can be sure that Salou will steal your heart with its great offer of leisure and fun.
